Gala Day and Jenny Evans Memorial Day

Invitation Fours Gala Day 2025

The weather remained fair for our annual Invitation Fours gala day. The comments and thanks received from the 48 competitors from 6 local clubs, were very favourable. It was lovely to see new faces amongst our regular supporters, including two young competitors who held their own on the green. Our own club members stepped up to the mark to help and to make delicious cakes.

Congratulations to Tony Lawrence’s team from Winslow Bowls Club for winning first prize with 39 points and to Ann Fitzjohn’s team from Bletchley St Martin Bowls Club who came second with 34 points. Margaret Friend’s team from Aylesbury Town Bowls Club was narrowly beaten with 33 points.

Jenny Evans Memorial Day

The Jenny Evans Memorial event was also a success with 40 members bowling and taking part in a quiz. Again, we had a high number of our new bowlers taking part. Many of these members are showing good potential on the green and a willingness to participate in all aspects of club life. Many thanks to you all and especially Ian for organising it.

Congratulations to Vaunda Wilkinson and Dave Vicentijevic who won the trophies and to Petula Boddy, Gill Dandy, Jed Dandy and Bob Howe who won the quiz. Modesty prevents me from naming the two players who were runners-up in both events.
