News Update - April 20th

Results.

On Saturday, we held our tradition opening match of the season with the Ladies playing the Gents. We were very fortunate with the weather and the green played well. I think it is fair to say that the Gents probably enjoyed the match a little more than the Ladies but it was good to hear laughter, banter, and the occasional groan, on the green.
Congratulations to Anne, Freda (AKA Richard K on loan to the Ladies), Vaunda, Tricia and Steph for recording the best result for the Ladies' Team. Also to Pat, Martin and Ian for recording the best result for the Men's Team.
Special thanks to everybody who worked behind the scenes to make the day happen.

On Sunday, we visited Stony Stratford for our first friendly of the season. The result was a 109-81 defeat but the real joy was meeting up with old friends/adversaries and enjoying the pleasant weather on their excellent green. Congratulations to Pat, Diane, John U and Joëlle for recording the best West End result on the day.

Next week our regular Roll-ups will begin on Monday Afternoons, Wednesday Afternoons and Thursday Evenings, just turn up if you want to play.

Our Annual Spoon Drive Tournament will be held next Saturday and a few places are still available if you want to play.

On Sunday, we have our first home friendly of the season when Winslow will be the visitors.
