Club Mixed Triples

On Sunday, we were blessed with glorious spring sunshine, a beautiful green, the gentle sound of the River Ouse flowing past the West End Green and the peal of church bells calling the faithful.  It was hard to imagine a more idyllic English scene for a game of lawn bowls.

After five rounds of bowls, the twelve teams were whittled down to just four to play in the final and in the plate final.

Congratulations to Steve Cornell, Ray East, and Tricia Brooks, who beat Richard Franklin, Diane Phillips, and Yvonne Kemp in the final.

Also congratulations to Ian Jones, Kevin Allibone, and Gill Wells who beat  Eric Evans, Martin Brooks, and Vaunda Wilkinson in the plate final.

Special thanks to Colin Boddy for organising the event and his able assistant on the day, Alison Vicentijevic.  Also thanks to all the other people who helped to make the event a resounding success.
