Ray Keen League Week 10

The final games in the Ray Keen League were played on Wednesday Night and the Westenders finished in style, winning all four fixtures.

Congratulations to the Centurions who finished top of the Northern Blue League Division 2.

The Centurions won their league final game, 27-9 against Newport Patriots. After a slightly shaky start, dropping 4 shots in the very first end, they quickly recovered to lead 12-6 after 9 ends and won a further 7 ends in the second half of the game. This win secured the top spot and they will be playing in the Northern Blue League Division 1 next season. Well done to all.

Our Northern Red League Division 1 side, the Cohorts, played their final game and recorded a resounding 31-6 win against Bletchley St Martin's Phoenix. The result secured a 3rd place finish for the Cohorts.

The Gladiators finished their season in fine form beating the Northern Blue Division 2 top team, Bletchley St Martin's Shooting Stars, by 19-12. This game was never in doubt after the Gladiators took an early lead. Unfortunately the win was not enough to overtake the Shooting Stars in the table but it did guarantee a second place finish.

The Praetorians achieved their best result of the season beating the Northern Red Division 5 champions, Woburn Rollers, by 17-14 in a very tight and exciting game. The lead changed hands several times and Woburn were ahead by two shots at the half way point. The Praetorians fought back and held a one shot lead going into the final end, when they picked up two shots to clinch the game. This win combined with other results means that the Praetorians finish 5th in their first season.
